What Matters Matters Most provides a novel solution to the pervasive problem of employee disengagement and the resulting issues in enterprise, healthcare, small business, and nonprofit organizations.

The “solution” is revealed through the relatable story of five leaders (and one little dog) who serve on the Board of Directors of the Furry Hope Rescue & Adoption Agency.

One evening, Bob, Tameka, Mae, and Ramesh commiserate about the problems they’re experiencing on their teams. Amy, founder and executive director, shares that her team had a raging problem with disengagement until an expert taught her three little words. Amy invites them to the Pet Playroom to witness the transformation, and they marvel at the astonishing efficiency, enthusiasm, collaboration, and joy on Amy’s team.

The following month, the mysterious expert joins their meeting and reveals the hidden cause of employee disengagement, promising to provide her solution if the leaders accept a groundbreaking dare. Though skeptical, they embark on a game-changing journey that shifts their perspective on strategic growth. Each month, the expert returns to unveil another layer of the solution, inviting questions; sharing industry examples; providing strategies to customize the solution to their teams, products, and services; disclosing formulas to gain support from internal stakeholders; and emailing “Challenges” to launch small initiatives.
